From
the Desk of Ron
Restaino,
Broker/Owner
Restaino & Associates offers our clients, customers and friends our
best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year. We look forward to
2012 with great anticipation and resolve to continue to provide the
very best in real estate services available in today’s market.
We could not effectively look forward without first looking back on
2011 and our accomplishment as one of only two major real estate firms
in Dane County to experience and increase in sales during the past
year. I attribute this success to the professionalism and experience of
our agents and the efforts of our administrative staff, who work
tirelessly to support our sales team’s efforts on your behalf.
Thank you again for your support: past, present and future.
Sincerely,
Ron Restaino

A Message From The Banking
Industry
2011 has gone by with a blink of an eye! The whirlwind was coupled with
extensive regulatory changes over the past year.
Currently t is a buyers market with inventories at more than 14 months
and rates are at record lows. Now is the time to plan for the new year
and reach out to professionals.
The first step is to talk to a lender . Dont let the news scare you
off when you hear claims that it is difficult to qualify for a
mortgage. While there has been some tightening, there are still many
options available for potential home buyers and a professional can help
guide you through the process.
After you know what you can qualify for, reach out to a Realtor. The
Realtor has so much information at their finger tips. Also, with the
inventory of short sales and foreclosures on the market, they can use
their expertise to help you get the most for your money.
We are thinking positive going into 2012. The key will be for Inventory
to be reduced before sellers feel comfortable selling their home in
timely and for a fair price. Chairman of the WRAs board of directors
said the strong market of the last few months has pulled sales in 2011
nearly even with the 2010 level. It seems that we may have turned the
corner if there is not another shock to our economic system.
Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and successful New Year!

Healthy Tips from the Joy of
Being Well
Would You Like to Start the New
Year Healthy?
2012 is going to be an exciting year, and you want to be at your best
to take advantage of every minute. What exactly does "healthy" mean to
you? Would you like to...
- Lose some weight?
- Get more and better
sleep?
- Feel stronger?
- Eat healthier?
- Live pain-free?
3 Tips to get you started:
#1 - Losing as few
at 10 pounds will move you closer to all of the other wants in that
list. My favorite weight loss tip is to cut out Fructose.
This is the
sugar found in fruit and honey, but it is also found in hundreds of
processed foods under the names high-fructose corn syrup, corn sugar,
fructose and others. Fructose creates uric acid which causes insulin
spikes leading to diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease and
obesity. Yikes! Limit your daily intake of fructose to 15 grams (1 med.
apple is 10g).
#2 - Turn off your
computer, cell phone and TV 30
minutes before bed. Studies show that
the bright light of a computer screen or TV disrupts Melatonin
production which in turn throws off your sleep cycle. Further studies
prove that too little or poor quality sleep contributes to heart
disease, high blood pressure, hormone imbalances, weight gain and even
fibromyalgia. Sleep is
more than a luxury. The sooner we learn to take
it seriously, the healthier and happier we will be.
#3 - Shut down your brain
for a few minutes each day. I could have said meditate but you might
have stopped reading. The benefits of this brain break are many
including curing migraines and infertility, controlling pain, lowering
cholesterol and weight loss to name a few. Start with just 5-10 minutes
2 times a day and see what happens. See a list of 100 reasons to meditate
here.

Happy New Year!
Be well~
